Johan Santana, New York Mets: Johan's been doing the same thing for years now: coasting through the first half of the season, then dominating the second half. Well, he's up to his old tricks again, having not given up a run in his last two starts and blowing away hitters the way the Mets hoped he'd do the minute they signed him.
Randy Johnson, Arizona: Getting to pitch at Dodger Stadium right now is a beautiful thing, as they've lost seven straight going into Friday's games and can't seem to score any runs at all. Not that the Big Unit needs it, of course. He's been throwing well this month and has been an absolute strikeout machine. Lock him in for sure.
Mike Mussina, New York Yankees: He's won his last six starts, with decent strikeout numbers and a 2.93 August ERA at the same time. Being able to pitch in Seattle isn't a bad thing, either.
Matt Garza, Tampa Bay: The way the Rays are winning games right now, almost any pitcher they throw out there is going to be a solid play. But two of the last three times Garza's taken the mound, he's shutout his opponent and has seen his record improve to 11-7 on the year. He's a good play every week now.
