RHP Kevin Millwood (right groin strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 24. He began a minor league rehab assignment Aug. 10 and was activated Aug. 15.

RHP Brandon McCarthy (right elbow inflammation) opened the season on the 60-day disabled list. He began a throwing program in early April, then was shut down because of inflammation. He began a minor league rehab assignment in mid-July, but he was scratched from a start Aug. 6 so he could work on his mechanics. He resumed pitching for Class AAA Oklahoma on Aug. 12, and he will be activated Aug. 23.

RHP Vicente Padilla (right shoulder inflammation) had a cortisone shot Aug. 11. He had his Aug. 14 start pushed back to Aug. 19.

2B Ian Kinsler (groin soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list Aug. 18. He will rest for two weeks before being re-examined. If he is found to have a sports hernia, he likely would need season-ending surgery.

OF David Murphy (right posterior cruciate ligament strain) went on the 15-day disabled list Aug. 7. He is unlikely to return before Sept. 1.

3B Hank Blalock (shoulder inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 28. Blalock previously spent three months on the DL this season because of a hamstring strain and surgery to repair carpal tunnel syndrome. He had a series of setbacks, but he is expected back Aug. 22.

RHP Eric Hurley (right shoulder tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 28. He had returned for just one start after spending June 30-July 26 on the DL with a left hamstring strain. He might not return before September.

RHP Doug Mathis (stiff right shoulder) went on the 15-day disabled list June 20. He began a minor league rehab assignment Aug. 2.

LHP A.J. Murray (strained left rotator cuff) went on the 15-day disabled list June 4, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on Aug. 7.

LHP John Rheinecker (thoracic outlet syndrome) opened the season on the 60-day disabled list. He had surgery to remove a rib that was compressing an artery leading to his arm. He began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona League on Aug. 13.

LHP C.J. Wilson (bone spurs in left elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list Aug. 6. He had season-ending surgery Aug. 13.

LHP Kason Gabbard (left shoulder inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list June 29, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on Aug. 1. He had season-ending surgery during the All-Star break.

RHP Jason Jennings (torn flexor tendon in right forearm) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 1, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on July 29. He underwent season-ending surgery May 30.
