--CF Josh Hamilton (strained rib cage muscle) took live batting practice Friday and is expected to begin a short rehab assignment for Class AAA Oklahoma City on Sunday. Hamilton could play one or two games for Oklahoma City before being activated Tuesday if everything goes well.
--3B Michael Young left Friday's game early due to a stiff back. INF Omar Vizquel, who started at shortstop, moved over to third and rookie SS Elvis Andrus, who was getting a day off, entered the game. If Young is going to be out for a day or two, the Rangers might bring up an infielder such as Joaquin Arias as insurance. That would probably mean OF Greg Golson would be sent back to Class AAA Oklahoma City. --1B Chris Davis struck out three more times Friday to run his total to 47 in the Rangers' first 28 games. Davis has struck out at least once in all but one of his starts this season. And the one start in which he didn't strike out was the second game of the year.

OF Josh Hamilton (strained left ribcage muscle) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 27. He might play a rehab game May 11, and he is expected to be activated May 12.
RHP Willie Eyre (right groin strain) went on the 15-day disabled list April 23. He had begun the season on the DL with the same injury.
RHP Dustin Nippert (upper back soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 22. He began a rehab assignment with Class AA Frisco on April 11, but he strained a muscle in his side.
RHP Joaquin Benoit (rotator cuff surgery in January 2009) went on the 60-day disabled list April 5. He is out for at least the first half of the season but could miss the entire year.
RHP Eric Hurley (rotator cuff surgery in January 2009) went on the 60-day disabled list April 5. He is out for the year.
