--3B Michael Young's first-inning double Thursday extended his hitting streak to 11 games. Young now has 17 hitting streaks that have reached double-digits in his career. Only Ivan Rodriguez (19) had more double-figure hitting streaks as a Ranger.
--1B Chris Davis struck out and homered Thursday. Between leading the AL in strikeouts (44) and hitting seven homers, he has done one or the other in 51 of his 105 plate appearances (48.6 percent) this season. --2B Ian Kinsler is hitting just .183 for 60 road at-bats this season, even after going 1-for-4 Thursday. It ranks 83rd among 87 AL qualifiers. Kinsler hit .303 on the road last season.
MEDICAL WATCH:
OF Josh Hamilton (strained left ribcage muscle) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 27. He might play a rehab game May 11, and he is expected to be activated May 12.
RHP Willie Eyre (right groin strain) went on the 15-day disabled list April 23. He had begun the season on the DL with the same injury.
RHP Dustin Nippert (upper back soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 22. He began a rehab assignment with Class AA Frisco on April 11, but he strained a muscle in his side.
RHP Joaquin Benoit (rotator cuff surgery in January 2009) went on the 60-day disabled list April 5. He is out for at least the first half of the season but could miss the entire year.
