--LHP C.J. Wilson was charged with his second consecutive blown save, though only one of the two runs he allowed Tuesday was earned. Since June 1, Wilson has compiled a 5.91 ERA and allowed opponents a .315 batting average. He has allowed five homers and 14 walks in 21 1/3 innings.
--SS Michael Young was back in the Rangers' lineup a day after suffering a fracture to his right ring finger. Young, however, appeared to struggle at the plate. He was hitless in four at-bats with three strikeouts. It was his third three-strikeout game of the year, the first since June 1. --DH Milton Bradley left the game after a seventh-inning at-bat with a strained left quadriceps muscle. Bradley has had achy quads all season.
--To replace 3B Hank Blalock on the roster, the Rangers purchased the contract of INF Ryan Roberts from Class AAA Oklahoma. Roberts, who grew up in Fort Worth, had a seven-RBI inning over the weekend. He will be the Rangers' utility infielder for the time being.
--RHP Jamey Wright continues to exhibit signs of a burned-out reliever. Wright allowed three inherited runners to score, then surrendered back-to-back homers to Jose Lopez and Bryan LaHair. It's the first time this season the Mariners have hit back-to-back home runs. Wright, who has appeared in a career-high 52 games this season, has allowed 20 earned runs in 26 innings (6.92 ERA) since June 1 to raise his ERA to 4.70.
BY THE NUMBERS: 35 -- Number of the Rangers' final 57 games that will be played in Arlington. The Rangers began the season's longest homestand (11 games) on Monday. It also begins a stretch of 26 games in which 20 will be played at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
