--RHP Brendan Donnelly was signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training. Donnelly, 37, made only 15 appearances last year for Cleveland after having Tommy John surgery in August 2007. Though he had an 8.56 ERA in those games, Donnelly is 26-9 for his career with a 3.12 ERA. He will compete for a middle-relief spot.
--LHP C.J. Wilson told reporters he was 100 percent healthy on the eve of the club's first workout for pitchers and catchers. Wilson missed the last two months of last season after undergoing surgery to remove a bone chip from his elbow. Wilson is expected to be able to participate in workouts at full speed along with the rest of the pitching staff. He is competing for the closer's role with RHP Frank Francisco. --OF Josh Hamilton told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram he doesn't care whether he plays center field (his position the last two seasons) or right field. It's conceivable Hamilton could move to right if non-roster invitee Andruw Jones shows that he is once again healthy.
--RHP Jason Jennings has been signed to a minor league contract. Jennings pitched only five times last year, all in April, before going on the disabled list with a torn flexor tendon. He isn't likely to contend for a rotation spot to start the year, but if he's healthy, he could be in position to step into a spot shortly after Opening Day.
