--After missing consecutive starts, SS Michael Young returned to the lineup Monday. It was Young's 150th game of the season. He has played at least 150 games in the last seven seasons.

--LHP Matt Harrison reportedly had no issues with a bullpen session on Monday and will make his final start of the season on Wednesday. Harrison had a significant drop in velocity in his last outing, pitching at only 85-87 mph, but he had no pain.

--The Rangers will change leagues at the low Class A level. Clinton (Iowa), in the Midwest League, is partnering up with Seattle. The Rangers had been in Clinton since 2003. GM Jon Daniels said the club would shift its affiliation to Hickory (N.C.) of the South Atlantic League.

--The Rangers have been on quite a run of ejections lately. Home plate umpire Bill Hohn tossed OF Marlon Byrd after the eighth inning Monday. He became the fourth different Rangers player ejected in the last eight games. Manager Ron Washington has been ejected twice in that time.

--The Rangers officially decided RHP Brandon McCarthy would not pitch again this season. McCarthy, who left his last start after seven pitches due to a strained ligament in his right middle finger, is expected to throw a couple at least one bullpen session to give him and the Rangers some sense the pitcher is healthy going into the offseason.

BY THE NUMBERS: 55 -- Number of players used by the Rangers this year, which is a club record, shattering the mark of 52. Brian Gordon, who made his major league debut in a 17-4 loss to Detroit on Wednesday, became No. 55.
