The Rangers fell behind early on Jack Cust's grand slam in the fourth inning against Brandon McCarthy, and never got up, losing 9-4 to the Oakland Athletics . Texas scored three runs in the top of the ninth in Oakland. Seattle lost again to the Kansas City Royals, keeping the Rangers in first place in the AL West.
