The board will allow fans in right field to see replays and video. Since the park opened, the only replay board has been above the home run porch in right field.
In addition, "ribbon" lighting panels will be installed along much of the fa?ade between the lower and upper bowls. The panels will be capable of providing out-of-town scores, game information and advertising.
"Our stadium is as pretty a stadium as there is in Baseball," club president Nolan Ryan said on a conference call Tuesday. "We are trying to balance as best as possible, the old-style beauty of the stadium with enhancements which are available."
The Rangers are also adding a couple of premium seating blocks. Two rows of seats will be added behind home plate. And a second "Commissioner's Box" will be added along the third base dugout. The first such box was installed on the first-base side in 2000.
The two premium seating locations will add about 150 seats to the capacity, but they will also further reduce the limited foul territory behind home plate and along the third-base line.
