It's because they're panicking.
Why, I don't know.
The Rangers told us they wanted to see Holland and Neftali Felizhave success at the triple-A level before they promoted them to the big leagues. They wanted them to ahve success at every level of the minor leagues before giving them an opportunity to get outs at the big league level.
Now, they've tossed that plan.
Holland made one start and gave up four runs in four innings. He did a solid job in spring training, but obviously didn't dazzle or he would've been in Arlington to start the season.
So what changed? The same raggedy Rangers' pitching that we've seen for at least a decade has appeared again except for Kevin Millwood, who has been magnificent in his first two starts.
The Rangers have lost six of seven games and the front office and, probably, the manager are tired of watching the same old shoddy performances. The Rangers have the best minor league system in Baseball and no one wants to get fired whether it's the GM or the manager having not used every player that could help this team play better.
The Rangers have turned to Holland, who went 13-1 last year and was Minor League pitcher of the year.
Hopefully, the Rangers don't ruin him while chasing the rest of the American League this year
