News analysis: Young to sit out a week
Texas Rangers shortstop Michael Young (finger) fractured his right ring finger Monday, July 28, and will miss at least five to seven days.

The All-Star is having another solid season with a .298 average, eight homers, 58 RBI and seven steals.

Young said he hopes to return before the five-to-seven-day window. It's unlikely the team would place him on the disabled list, because that knocks him out a minimum of 15 days. Therefore, fantasy owners should place him on their bench until he returns to the lineup.

Rangers utilityman Ramon Vazquez is having a career year with a .309 average, five homers and 31 RBI in 220 at-bats. He will probably fill in for Young at shortstop and may have minimal fantasy potential based on the matchups; he hits right-handed pitching (.328, all five of his home runs in 186 at-bats) much better than left-handed pitching (.206 in 34 at-bats).
