--The Rangers took 13 walks, tied for the fourth most in club history. It was the first time since April 19, 1996 in a 26-7 win over Baltimore that the Rangers took as many as 13 walks. Nine different players took walks and there were two bases-loaded walks.
--CF Josh Hamilton widened his lead in the American League RBI race. Hamilton tied his career high with four RBIs thanks in part to a 447-foot homer to right center. He has 43 RBIs, 10 ahead of Oakland's Emil Brown. --RHP Doug Mathis earned the win in his major league debut by pitching a perfect 10th inning. Mathis threw just nine pitches while recording his three outs. He and 3B Travis Metcalf both made their 2008 season debuts. The Rangers have now used 37 players this season, most in the majors.
--DH Milton Bradley left the game after six innings with a sore right shoulder that he apparently injured on a practice swing. Bradley will be reevaluated Tuesday but even if he's just going to miss a day or two it could necessitate the activation of OF Marlon Byrd from the DL. Byrd has gone 4-for-12 on a rehab assignment with Class AAA Oklahoma.
--RHP Luis Mendoza (sore shoulder) will make his first rehab start Wednesday for Class AA Frisco.
BY THE NUMBERS: 10-2 -- Rangers' record when allowing opponents three or fewer runs this season. They were 42-8 (.840) last year when allowing under four -- tied with Los Angeles for the best such winning percentage in the AL.
