Blue Jays SS John McDonald has yet to start a game this season, entirely because Marco Scutaro is off to a great start and ranks as one of the top leadoff hitters in Baseball.

McDonald, one of the most well-liked and respected Jays , accepts his backup role and has shown a very positive attitude.

"You look at it has you have a job to do and my job is to stay prepared in case something happens to our two guys up the middle (Scutaro and second baseman Aaron Hill)," McDonald said.

"Every team has players like that. Our focus is to win and for someone like me to say that he isn't happy because he's not playing is simply false. Our guys are playing great and it's my job to stay prepared."
